Approaches
I am going to talk what we have discussed and how we have approached a problem which the isolation of the video games.
1. The negative and positive effects of various video gamesWhen we talked about the video games at the very first time, we thought about the negative and positive effects, but there were many researches which placed a great deal of negative weight. However, we, as people who love video games, decided to consider benefits rather than negative aspects.

2. Second lifeAfter we decided to research positive effects of the video games, we discussed the video game as a second life. As a result of research, we found millions of people who live in the cyber world as a second life. Among the cyber world, the most famous game was the
Second life. According to Philip Rosedale who is the CEO of Linden Lab, which is a company of the Second life,
more than 230 million people soaked themselves into this game (2006, P Rosedale, www.secondlife.com). This means millions of people live and enjoy their second life in the cyber space, but, even though we tried to find the benefits of video game, we could not disregard the negative effects such as an addiction and an isolation of this video game issue.
Go see some picturesThe Sims, which have got a similar issue as the Second life 3. IsolationThereafter we discovered the isolation of video games' effects as a main problem.
When kids get into a gaming frenzy and have no interest in anything else. Gaming went from off time to all-the-friggin-time. One underlying cause could be the lack of family life and parents not spending enough time with their kids which links to the fact that workloads are getting more and more (April.27.2007, Alisa,
class discussion). In addition, we found and read some reading articles about
how video games are making children social inept at a conversational level as well as creating a supposed violent generation (May.5.2007, Tripletsis95,
the MX article), and about pro-video games for adolescents such as
a) "Don't Bother me Mom-I'm learning!" Marc Prensky
b)"Playing Video Games: Motives, Responses, and Consequences" Peter Vordere, Jennings Bryant
c) "Video Games & Interactive Media: A glimpse at New Digital Entertainment" Stephane Natkin

readings).
A video of the isolationSome case studiesTherefore, we found enormous results of the isolation of video games from various kinds of a different point of view. We thought, however, the most important problem of this ‘isolation’ issue is the lack of family life, so we decided to propose some solutions such as board games, clue games and sports games, without consoles but on the mat.
